The west coast of the United States. The west coast of South America. The Cape Town area of South Africa. The western tip of Australia and the coastal areas of the Mediterranean.

Its very nutrient poor.

Temperature range is between 30° and 100° F. Summer: very hot and dry Temperature: usually mild but it can get very hot or nearly freezing inches of rain all year, and most of it comes in the winter. Long period of dryness.

Only plants with hard leaves can survive. Many leaves are very hairy so with that it can collect moisture from the air & use it.

Have both forests and grasslands. Animals sleep during the day & come out at night. Dry summers cause biome to be sensitive to fires. Animals can survive on very seldom amount of water. Common animals are coyotes, mule deer, praying mantis, and lady bugs.
