Why is it important to have a variety of animals in the Chesapeake bay ? It is important to have a variety of animals in the bay. Oysters keep the bay healthy. Blue crabs are a popular part in the food chain. My research will show that oysters & blue crabs are important to the bay.
Why are Oysters important to the bay? Oysters are important to the bay because they keep the bay healthy and clean. They provide communities that provide lots of habitats & food for other living organisms. Oysters are filter feeders who feed on phytoplankton,which cleans water. Oysters are important to the bay.
Why are blue crabs important to the bay? Blue crabs are important to the bay because they are a very popular part in the food chain, a lot of places eat them. They go through 3 stages; zoea,mega lops and immature crab. Blue crabs can be found in bay grasses and underwater meadows.
Conclusion In conclusion I have learned about Oysters & Blue crabs. Oysters keep the bay healthy & clean. Blue crabs have three stages called ; zoea, mega lops, & the immature crab.
