MEF - Machines & Experimental Facilities Main remaining General Services work Civil Engineering & Infrastructures – Infrastructure at the end of the transfer tunnel – Infrastructure over the wave guides in the tunnel Linac4 Electrical systems & cabling – Installation of the electrical boxes in the tunnel at final position – Pulling of 50 distribution cables for heating protection of the ionic pumps – Connection of the modulators – Installation of 2-3 missing canalis over the racks in the hall – Local cabling of the klystrons ongoing 14/03/2013J.Coupard2

MEF - Machines & Experimental Facilities Work baseline for H- source installation & commissioning The installation planning will be detailed in collaboration with J. Lettry and R. Scrivens. The first solenoid is installed on the LEBT and tests have been performed. March-April-May-June-July-August Hardware commissioning for 3MeV Test procedure for the commissioning of the modulators and the klystrons need to be detailed in order to define the safety aspects and all operational equipment needed. MEF - Machines & Experimental Facilities Work baseline for RFQ and chopper line installation The installation planning will be detailed in collaboration with C. Rossi. The priority is the installation of the cooling system in the local in order to install then the klystron of the RFQ. This installation takes into account the installation of the diagnostic line. June-July-August MeV beam commissioning The 3MeV area will be separated by fence and the access will stay possible in the Linac4 and transfer tunnel. From September /03/2013J.Coupard5

MEF - Machines & Experimental Facilities In addition Klystrons & modulators The installation of the klystrons will continue according to the availability of them. The installation of the modulators will start in the coming weeks with the RFQ modulator and will continue during the year according to their availability. Linac4 machine installation It would be possible to install some CCDTL according to the installation readiness planning of the structures and the availability of the jacks. Open Days The Linac4 will be one of the visiting site at CERN September /03/2013J.Coupard6

MEF - Machines & Experimental Facilities Concerns In March 2014 is foreseen the beam commissioning at 10MeV. According to the safety requirements, the access system will need to be operational and the ventilation need to run at nominal conditions. – The tunnel need to be hermetic: The material shaft need to be closed Do we need to make the services shaft airtight ? 14/03/2013J.Coupard7

Paulat, J. Etheridge, A. Masson, G. Pastor) … and all those I might forgot ! The installation of Linac4 has a good progress and the first phase of General Services was completed successfully.
