Transformation and Translation By Edwin Mendiola

Transformation A GENERAL TERM FOR FOUR SPECIFIC WAYS TO MANIPULATE THE SHAPE OF A POINT, LINE, OR SHAPE.

A COMPOSITE OF TRANSFORMATIONS MEANS THAT THERE ARE TWO OR MORE TRANSFORMATIONS. THEY WILL BE PERFORMED ON ONE OBJECT. FOR INSTANCE, WE COULD PERFORM A REFLECTION AND THEN A TRANSLATION ON THE SAME POINT.

Transformations

Translation TRANSLATION IS A TRANSFORMATION THAT "SLIDES" AN OBJECT IN A FIXED DISTANCE AND IN A GIVEN DIRECTION.

DID YOU KNOW? THE ORIGINAL OBJECT AND ITS TRANSLATION HAVE THE SAME SHAPE AND SIZE, AND THEY FACE IN THE SAME DIRECTION.

EXAMPLE AN EXAMPLE OF TRANSLATION IN ARCHITECTURE WOULD BE THE STADIUM SETTING. THE SEATS ARE THE SAME SIZE AND SHAPE, AND FACE IN THE SAME DIRECTION.

TRANSLATION IN GEOMETRY IS MOVING A SHAPE, WITHOUT ROTATING OR FLIPPING. IT'S SIMPLY SLIDING IT. THE FOUR MATH TRANSFORMATIONS ARE: TRANSLATION, REFLECTION, ROTATION AND DILATION.
