2. The Two Minute List Students will be given 2 minutes to make a list. This is a quick, no prep needed, way of getting students’ brains warmed up This activity is also a way for you to assess students’ comprehension of a lesson This activity works individually or in groups.

Color Cards Color cards allow you to get instant feedback on students’ level of understanding A quick glance around the room will immediately tell you which students are understanding and which need more help If you look up to see a rainbow of answers, you can do a quick re-teach of the concept before students get too far behind These cards can also be made for fact and opinion, author’s purpose, and author’s writing patterns
