Raccoon By: Britanya Ornelas

Description A raccoon is a mammal that walks on four legs. They have long flexible fingers with claws. They have a black mask around the eyes. And they have a striped tail.

Habitat Raccoon live in North and south America. They need to live near water. They can live in forests meadows or even cities. They like to make their dens in old trees high up.

Diet A raccoon is an omnivore They eat fruit fish mice nuts plants garbage. Cubs drink moms milk Raccoon dunk their food in water before they eat.

Survival There are many dangers to raccoon Raccoons worst enemies are humans and dogs. Other predators are cougars and coyotes. Raccoon climb trees run away or fight back.

Other Facts Raccoon don’t hibernate but do sleep for weeks in winter. They have up to 8 cubs in the spring.
