Fascism+Questions A political system that relies on extreme nationalism, militarism and a strong dictator. Where do we see World War II’s impact in our society? Why is it called the good war?

Italy Leader: Benito Mussolini Government: Fascist Aggression: Italy invaded Ethiopia in 1935.

Japan Leader: Emperor Hirohito, Prime Minister Hideki Tojo Government: Imperial Military Dictatorship Aggression: In 1937, Japan invaded China.

Response to Aggression Isolationism: Many in the United States believed they should avoid all alliances with and aid to European nations to avoid war. Appeasement: European nations allowed Germany and Japan to gain territory in hopes of avoiding a war. Lend Lease: This program provided weapons to Great Britain, while keeping the United States out of the War.
