Questions to Ask Ourselves Finally, “Who are my Gentiles? Who are those people with whom I feel I have nothing in common, around whom I would probably feel thoroughly uncomfortable?” Then I find myself asking: “Who is my circumcision party? What are the voices, either internal or external, that say: 'Don't do it. I've never done that before. I'm not comfortable with that. They're too different from me. It's too scary.'?”

The Holy Spirit The Holy Spirit was present in the early church. He guided the believers. It says that the believers were 'filled with the Holy Spirit'. Luke also uses the word 'filled' with things like jealousy (5:17), joy (13:52), and rage (19:28). It has the idea of being under the control of something, our actions guided by the emotion/feeling. So it was with the believers and the Spirit – they gave themselves to God and were guided by Him.

So, how do we get to be filled?
