African Masks are dramatic portraits of spirits, ancestors, and characters from stories. Each mask is created according to tradition and worn by a trained performer. Some African masks are worn as part of celebrations with costumed dancers, vibrant music, and stylized dance. These ceremonies are important social events for the whole community.
