Broadband Access in Japan ADSL operators are emerging one after another CATV operators begin internet access services one after another Operators who have been providing services by private IP address are now changing it to by global IP address – Peer-to-peer applications like games and telephony are getting more and more popular FTTH providers are now emerging

Issues List of customers may be confidential information so that many operators aren ’ t willing to submit – Is it legal according to regulation for telecom operators – In case of not LIR, they have to submit such info to LIR who can be a competitor Broadband access operators tend to have very big number of customers Consequently, evaluation on the allocation is tough thing to both LIR and JPNIC, tend to take a long time – Reasonable and easier procedure would be welcomed
