Facts about tornados In just a average year 1,000 tornados hit nationwide. Tornados can occur almost anytime anywhere. Tornados can go up to 300mph. A tornado is called a funnel cloud when in the air.

Safety tips If you are in a mobile home get out. You need food for about three days. Stay inside until it is safe to go out. Go to a basement if you don’t have a basement go to a interior room. Crouch down on your knees and cover your head with your arms
