{ The Formation of a Star By: Kaia Eder

 The first stage of a star is it starts out with a nebula. There are different types of nebulas, but I am only going to tell you one. The nebula I am going to tell is called Emission Nebula. An Emission Nebula is other stars that join to make a full nebula. The First Stage of a Star

{ The Second Stage of a Star The second stage of a star is matter will start to heat up and glow. This is called a Protostar. If the Protostar reaches enough energy to reach central temperature, it can reach 15 million degrees centigrade. At this temperature, nuclear reactions in hydrogen fuses begin to create helium.

{ The Third Stage of a Star The third stage of a star is that the star is starting to release energy stopping it from contracting even more, while this causes it to shine. This is now called a Main Sequence Star. One star of one solar mass can remain in main sequence for about 10 billion years, until all of the fuse comes out to create helium.

{ The Fourth Stage of a Star The fourth stage of a star is that the helium core starts to contract further in between each other and reactions begin to occur in the shell around the core. The core is now hot enough for helium to fuse to form carbon. The outer layer begins to grow larger, and cool down while the shine shines less brightly. The expanding star is now called a Red Giant.

{ The Fifth Stage of a Star The fifth stage of a star is that now the helium core runs out and the outer layers drifts away from the outer core as a gaseous shell. The gas that is surrounding the whole thing is called a Planetary Nebula. Sometimes the core survives the huge explosion. The remaining core, which is 80% of its original star is now in its final stage. The core now becomes a White Dwarf, and it will cool down and dim. It is now a complete star.
