Which area of Native Americans were the ones to use the buffalo? The Plains Indians

Can you come up with three reasons why the buffalo was so important?

Buffalo were used for food. Buffalo were used for shelter. Buffalo were used for clothing. Good for you!!

Why did they choose to live in tipis? What was the type of shelter used by the Plains Indians?

They needed something which could travel easily because... they had to follow the buffalo. Here’s a clue.

How did the use of horses made life easier for the Plains Indians?

Did you come up with at least three ways? They could hunt the buffalo much easier. They could carry more. They could move much faster.

Compare how your life is different than the life of a Plains Indian child. You should come up with at least three ways. Share them when you’re finished.
