Oral presentation Project Unit 6 Have a look at these images … … and find out what your oral presentation will be about …

Oral presentation Unit 6 You are going to choose choose the topic for your next oral presentation in class. Today, you will start with the process of research and note taking. A process you may need to finish at home. Consider the different issues (= parts & ingredients) you must develop in your oral presentation obligatorily. You will have to speak for 5 minutes, at least. Questions will be asked at the end of your presentation, too. You may write a text which refines the notes and jots down useful expressions, words or ideas which might be helpful to you during presentation. Your teacher can correct these texts you prepare in advance. During the presentation process you may use NOTES but NOT a perfectly finished and written text. Remember you will be presenting and NOT reading. Make sure you understand the criteria for the evaluation. If you want to use a PPT, your teacher will check it obligatorily.

Collect information about a GENIUS Example: page 96 on textbook Issues: Brief description of his/her background (origin, family, education…). Main findings, theories, discoveries or performances (briefly). You may speak about where the person was born and raised, something about the person’s background and family or school life. Details about his public consideration or one exceptional feat or discovery. You may use a quote on him or by him to illustrate this introductory paragraph. Detailed analysis of his/her abilities and skills. Describe his/her different intelligences (page 91) and justify your statements. You may also speak about his/her most famous or interesting feats or accomplishments and in what field the person exceled. Reasons to choose this author. Opinion & reaction. You may want to talk on your reasons why you consider that person to be a genius and the reactions his/her productions provoke on you. Be critical. Example: page 96 on textbook
