Appreciative leaders “The appreciative leader enlarges everyone’s knowledge and vision of the appreciable world – all the strengths, capacities, and potentials – not by having solid answers but with expansive questions.” David Cooperrider, Case Western Reserve University

Discovering our core leadership qualities Reflect upon your League experience, think about what matters most to you. What do you stand for as a leader? Sit with a partner, and answer the following questions. Your partner will take notes and then share what she has learned about you with the group.

Questions for your partner: What gives you the most satisfaction in your coaching/League work? When do you feel good about your work? What are others able to do as a result of your leadership? What do you value most about yourself as a leader? Why do people respect you as a leader?

3 – 4 Core Leadership Qualities Attention listeners: What are the 3 – 4 core leadership qualities that your partner possesses? What are the “gifts” that she brings to League and to MLD? Write them on the present form.
