Objectives At the end of the programme, students will be able to: 1.Understand the importance of maintaining one’s health through the following: Physical Health Healthy Eating Alcohol and Tobacoo Control Mental Health 2.Create awareness among cadets on the importance of healthy lifestyle.

Role of the Youth Health Ambassador Youth Health Topics –Physical Activity and Healthy Eating –Alcohol & Tobacco control –Mental wellness Project management skills –Students will plan and execute a simple project in school Activities -E.g. role-play, team-building game, video, presentation Presentation Team Work What will you learn?

Nutrition It is the science that involves interaction of nutrients and other substances in food, and in relation to maintenance, growth, reproduction, health and disease of an organism. Physical Active Being physically active is performing any activity which makes you move your body. Regular physical activities will also improve your feelings of well being and health.

What do these terms mean? Mental Health It is a state of well-being in which every individual realizes his or her own potential, can cope with the normal stresses of life, can work productively and fruitfully, and is able to make a contribution to her or his community. Health Promotion It is the process of enabling people to increase control over, and to improve, their health. It moves beyond a focus on individual behaviour towards a wide range of social and environmental interventions.
