Motivation Requirement for a Linear Protection Switching MIB module derived from: draft-ietf-mpls-tp-mib-management-overview. In response authors develop a new MIB module for supporting MPLS Transport Path Linear Protection feature.

Introduction This draft defines the object identifiers (OIDs) to support MPLS TP Linear protection OAM. It has 4 new tables as follows – mplsLpsConfigTable – mplsLpsStatusTable – mplsLpsMeConfigTable – mplsLpsMeStatusTable

Tables mplsLpsConfigTable – Maintain the MPLS TP Linear protection Group and its associated configuration parameters. mplsLpsStatusTable Maintains the status information of linear protection groups mplsLpsMeConfigTable – Maintains the association of the Maintenance Entities (MEs) to the protection switching group mplsLpsMeStatusTable – Maintains the current information about the protection path
