Community service is an act by a person that benefits the local community. People become involved in community service for many reasons: for some, serving community is an altruistic act, for others it is a punishment.

Habitat for Humanity International is a nonprofit, nondenominational Christian housing ministry.

Habitat affiliates work locally in communities around the world to select and support homeowners, organize volunteers and coordinate house building.

Valdosta State University hosted a Special Needs Awareness Day during the VSU Baseball game.

 During the Special Needs Awareness Day we worked with kids. We were assigned booths with different activities: face painting, bounce house, reading camp, lolley tree, tic tac toss.

Doing community service I realized that it not only benefits other people but it also benefits the person who is doing it. Helping other people can be fun, interesting, and just makes you feel good about yourself.
