 Lithium is a soft, silver-white metal.  It belongs to the alkali metal group of the chemical elements.  Lithium is the softest metal and the least dense solid.  Lithium is highly reactive and flammable.  Lithium is also used in batteries.

 Lithium was discovered as an element in  Lithium was first used for the treatment of Mania, in  Lithium Carbonate was created as a pill to prevent depression.  Lithium was also used for treatment on bipolar disorder.

 You will find it on the periodic table below Helium (H), above Sodium (Na), and to the left of Beryllium (Be).
