Lithium is a soft, silver-white metal. It belongs to the alkali metal group of the chemical elements. Lithium is the softest metal and the least dense solid. Lithium is highly reactive and flammable. Lithium is also used in batteries.
Lithium was discovered as an element in Lithium was first used for the treatment of Mania, in Lithium Carbonate was created as a pill to prevent depression. Lithium was also used for treatment on bipolar disorder.
You will find it on the periodic table below Helium (H), above Sodium (Na), and to the left of Beryllium (Be).
