With Google Earth ….. ….. we can visit places with the click of a button! ….. we can get directions to anywhere! ….. we can visit other cultures and landmarks from your classroom! Let’s Get Started

Getting Started Click on the Google Earth Icon This will be your first screen

Now For The Fun… In the search bar type “Eiffel Tower” and hit

Take A Closer Look You should be looking at the top of the Eiffel Tower. Let’s look closer. Use the + and – buttons to get closer to a ground view. A + will allow you to look from the ground, while the – will take you further away. These are on the right side of the screen as shown on the next slide.

Your zoom will be highlighted when your cursor touches it. TIP: Press ‘u’ to return to the original position.

Use these navigational controls to look around the area. TIP: Press ‘n’ to return to your first view.

This navigation tool is used to get a look as if your were turning your whole body and walking around.

This navigation tool is used to gain a view that you would get if you stood still and turned your head.

A Few More Features Look at pictures of the spot. Press these little icons at each location.

Click on other icons to view churches, hotels, restaurants, and other important buildings in an area.

Day and Night By pressing a button while visiting a particular spot, you can change it from night to day. This is at the top of your screen. Change the time by sliding the arrow at the top after pushing the button.

Find your house Type in your address and go to street view to find your house. Can you tell how recent this picture is? What are the clues? Try to find some other places you go frequently.
