Presentation transcript:

1. Identify the location of the LDR in a chloroplast, and explain why the LDR occurs there.

2. Explain why excited electrons are transported during the LDR.

3. Describe the function of electron carriers in the LDR.

4. Identify the location of the Calvin cycle in a chloroplast, and explain why the Calvin cycle occurs there.

5. Identify the reactant of photosynthesis that is taken in during the Calvin cycle, and explain WHY it is taken in during the Calvin cycle.

6. The Calvin cycle occurs at night, when light energy is unavailable. Explain how the Calvin cycle gets energy, AND describe how it uses this energy.

7. Differentiate between the LDR and the Calvin cycle in terms of what they make (OK to make a T-chart in your answer.)

8. Explain why the LDR cannot occur if the Calvin cycle does not occur the night before.
