Overview Kevin Ginty Jesmond, 18 th October

IRIOS-2 IRIOS produced a proof of concept for: –Gathering project data from the RCUK SSC –Importing it into the UNIS platform –CERIFying it –AND –Gathering data from the HEI partner IRs (ePrints, SURE) –Importing it into UNIS (and CERIFying it if need be) –THEN being able to –Link Publications to Projects –It worked! –Others used it… but is a bit ‘clunky’ and not fully featured!

IRIOS System Overview GUEST/guest RC SSC UNIS Sunderland ePrints Glasgow ePrints St Andrews PURE Filter Import Search View Collaborative research app development Maintain output types & relationships Reconcile finance & grant status info Query RMAS Query

IRIOS-2 IRIOS-2 converted IRIOS into a service –Gathering more project data from the RCUK SSC –Importing it into the UNIS platform –CERIFying it –Linking Publications to Projects –Tracking open access charges to specific research activities

IRIOS-2: Project Staff Sunderland –Kevin Ginty, Simon Kerridge, Paul Cranner, Paul Fairley, Ryan Henderson, Katie Nurowski Glasgow –Valerie McCutcheon, William Nixon St Andrews –Anna Clements, Scott Brander NERC –Gerry Lawson EPSRC –Chris Moulsley, Colin Haylock euroCRIS –Keith Jeffery

IRIOS-2: Overview The aims of the IRIOS-2 project are : i) Extend the IRIOS proof of concept demonstrator to better handle non-standard research outputs and multiple authors and roles ii) Enable HEIs to better collaborate by developing a CERIF B2B platform iii) Enable RCs and HEIs to reconcile grant status and finance information iv) Produce an Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) connected cloud enabled version of IRIOS-2 such that it is RMAS compliant (web service) v) Run a series of practical CERIF technical and business process workshops

IRIOS-2: Additions Import data in CERIF (previously Excel) Automated import of grants from RC SSC CERIF 1.2  1.4 Import standard outputs in CERIF (previously Excel manual) Many-to-many linking of outputs and grants Non-standard outputs in Excel can now be imported Multiple author roles for contacts (author, speaker, editor, etc.) Parent-child grant relationships supported
