About Antarctica By Patrick O’Sullivan
This is where Antarctica is – at the bottom of the world
This is a map of Antarctica
It is very cold. It is so cold that the waves freeze.
Icebergs also float in the seas near Antarctica.
Killer whales live there too. They are also called Orcas.
Leopard seals hunt for food in the water and rest on the land.
Polar bears can survive in the cold because of extra fat and extra fur.
There are lots of penguins – but they can’t fly. Their wings are used for swimming.
Emperor penguins are very big. You can see it is nearly as big as a person.
Nobody lives in Antarctica all the time, but scientists often go there to work.
Thoughts... I like Antarctica because of the landscapes and the interesting animals. I think the scientists are very brave, but I wouldn’t want to live there because it’s freezing! Thank you for watching my slide show.
