The Opportunity Peckham & Nunhead has some real and inherent advantages for creating a truly sustainable area:Peckham & Nunhead has some real and inherent advantages for creating a truly sustainable area: Big enough to have all the amenities a town centre needs - library, leisure, retail, cinema, public transport links etc. Low car ownership/usage and low need for car usage. Wide interest in sustainability (eg growing on Cossall Estate, Transition Town Peckham, Peckham Power & Peckham Town Centre Forum ). Compact - could be perfect for walking and cycling to these amenities. Canal Path – fabulous walking and cycling link to Burgess Park and Central London. BUT…BUT…
