Incorrect test assignments If you find that a student is assigned an incorrect test (example-should be Math 8 instead of Algebra), let your SAC or principal know and they will contact the assessment office to get it changed! 5
Technology considerations Don’t use the Chrome browser for proctor caching. (Proctor caching video will be shared via just prior to spring break) New desktop app!!! (reduces dependency on JAVA) 6
CDE directives Science/SS testing order- Be very careful that students test IN ORDER when taking the science and social studies assessments. The PAN system WILL allow you to test out of order but that will result in misadministration. Don’t give up on testing until you’ve included your DAC and Pearson in the troubleshooting process. Please keep track of ticket #’s! 7
CDE directives When students hit the submit button, they are done testing! There is no ability to “unsubmit” this year! (because of the new additions to the interface) 8

Basic Technical Troubleshooting 17
Common Error Codes 1001: “Your test has been saved. Please notify your test administrator.” – Early Warning System initial message, does not indicate the issue, another error code will follow 1009: “Unable to download test content” – Network connection issue between the testing device and Pearson servers. 3005: “TestNav has detected that another application attempted to become the active window” – This could be caused by pop-ups in the background, power saving features, or key combinations like ctrl+alt+del 8026: “Unable to connect to the proctor caching computer. Please contact your administrator.” – Network connection issue between the testing device and the local Proctor Caching device 18
Common Error Codes - What to do? Resume the student in PearsonAccess next Have the student log in again on the same testing device If the same error occurs repeatedly, or if the same error is affecting multiple students, contact your Technology Coordinator Do not move the student to another testing device unless the student safely exits the test using the log out feature. 19
Common Errors 9059: “The username or password you entered is incorrect.” If the username/password being used is accurate, the student may be on the incorrect login page – “Colorado” 20
Technology Tip If students are testing on iPads or Chromebooks, note the specific device on which each student is testing. Each student should use the same device for all units/sections to aid in response data recovery if needed. 21
Technology Errors Work to troubleshoot all technology errors For assistance call: – Assessment Department (57280), – DTS Assessment Help – (Opt 5) – Pearson Support Center – (PARCC), (Science/Social Studies) Do not stop trying to troubleshoot or test a student unless you have discussed with the Assessment Department 22
Practice tests Links to PARCC and CMAS practice tests are linked on the ceran student homepage. Chrome is not a reliable browser Use PARCC PBA practice tests as opposed to the EOY practice tests. 23
