CD AND DVD RESOURCES By: C’Nytra Allison Derelle Grant Martenez Horton Aaron McGilvery

DVD/CD  Everyday we constantly use DVD’s to play movies, and CD’s to rip to our phones.  Do you know what they are made of?

DVD’S/CD’S  DVD’s are made of a material called Bauxite ore which is a substance called aluminum.  This Aluminum comes from Canada, China, Australia, India, Brazil, and Russia  They wash, crush, dissolve, furnish, and harness the material.  Aluminum goes through a processed called smelting.  This process shapes the metal and rolls it up to a cast.

DISC  They both use plastic resources.  Plastic is made from crude oil from the ground that is combined with Nekton gas and other chemicals in the manufacturing or processes plant

DISC  They use another type of plastic called polycarbonate plastic  Polycarbonate is made from crude oil and natural gases extended from the earth.

DISC  Another plastic that is used called lacquer  Lacquer is made of acrylic

OTHER RESOURCES & QUESTIONS  Other resources used are things such as : gold and dyes  Gold is a metal that is formed from the center of the earth.  Dyes are chemicals made in a laboratory partially from petroleum that come from the earth  Is all Aluminum made of bauxite ore ?
