System Request Proposal: The card authenticating system will be replaced by finger print recognition system to avoid threat. This fingerprint will be read by a fingerprint reader and translated into a transaction.

Project Sponsor and background. Patriot Bank. On January 20, 2005, The Patriot Bank team acquired the First State Bank in order to acquire a bank charter and subsequently moved the corporate main office to Houston. Have a user base of customers. Have 126 ATM machines across Texas.

Business Need Need for Fraud tolerant system. Avoid Identity theft with lost cards. Lost passwords. Customer satisfaction.

Project Value Development cost : $50,000 USD X 3 months 1.Team Salaries 2.Consultant fees 3.Hardware and Software 4.Vendor Installation Operational cost : $10,000 USD 1.Maintenance 2.Software Licensing fees 3.Hardware Upgrades

Project Value Intangible Benefits: 1.Increase Market Share 2.Higher Quality Customer Support 3.Increase in Brand recogn ition Tangible Benefits: Increase Customers by 75%

System Working

Requirements  New ‘Finger Print Recognition system’ will be introduced to the present system.  System for converting the ‘Finger prints’ to ‘code’.  Embedded System coding has to be done for working of ATM system.

Staffing Our team will be consisting a total of 9 members:  2 database administrators.  4 engineers to work on the embedded systems.  2 on-site engineers  1 quality analyst.

Feasibility Analysis The system makes the legacy system to be simpler and more user-friendly. Credit card information is held with the bank only. 3 rd party ATM owners cannot possibly lay their hands on the vital information.

Technical Feasibility No research is required on building a new hardware since major part of the hardware can be readily acquired. Hardware is readily available which makes the system building less complicated.

Organizational Feasibility As we all know, organizational feasibility is about whether this system will be implemented or not. Patriot Bank has decided that in order to get an edge over their competitors, they need to target the security concerns of the customers more than ever. More and more people are becoming aware of credit card frauds and identity thefts everyday.

Special Issues and Constraints Integrating the new information system with existing legacy systems. Marketing the idea to all branches of Patriot Bank in Texas. Disabled and injured customers cannot access these systems.

Technology for future…..
