A project aimed at developing biomedical student internships in the Israeli industry Biomedical Engineering Internship Network
Why? For the students: 1. Develop practical engineering skills 2. Acquire relevant work experience 3. Create a professional network for young biomedical engineers For the companies: 1. Direct and easy access to a large pool of young, motivated workers who are vital to achieving their business goals 2. Build and strengthen ties between the industry and academia
How does is work? Step 1 Company offering position writes a short internship proposal Step 2 BEGIN sorts through the student database and selects three suitable candidates The proposal is sent to the candidates who decide if they would like to interview for the position Step 3 Once 2-3 qualified candidates are found, BEGIN sends the students portfolios (CVs, interest questionnaire, contact information, etc.) to the company The company interviews the students Step 4 If a match is made, the company finalizes terms for the internship directly with the student Otherwise, BEGIN searches the database again and supplies more candidates
Pilot Internship Tomer Segall is a third year student of biomedical engineering at Tel Aviv University He is currently interning at LeukoDx, a medical device start-up located in Jerusalem
