Preliminary Design Review Group A3: HMS “Bloodhound” Matt Morris Matt Prygoski Jay Slaggert Fred Thwaites Dan Zibton Thursday, April 10, 2008

Previous Week’s Action Item #1 -Calibration of Speed/Turning of Vehicle - Unable to do so (motors had not been mounted) - Changed plan: -Created user interface including keypad commands and LCD menu options. -Programmed function to determine vehicle location.

User Interface 1. Locate2. Operate 3. Traverse4. Search 1. Hazard Location 2. Starting Location 2. Operate: Full traverse and search algorithm (project goal) 3. Traverse: Traverse field only 4. Search: Perform search algorithm only

Determining Location Sample GPS Receiver 5 or more satellites in view? 30 samples taken? Average coordinates and store to memory Yes No Record Coordinates

Previous Week’s Action Item #2 -Documentation - Completed abstract, executive summary, and website -Website contains documentation, virtual model, design reviews, and much more

Current Status of Concept - CAD model complete - Physical prototype essentially complete - Working on electrical components and software - Schedule Status: Behind Schedule -Wanted vehicle moving by now Solution: Lots of work these next few days, focusing on completion of individual design requirements - Showstoppers: None Currently (but still suffering from previous week’s showstopper)

CAD Model Full Model

CAD Model Exploded Drive System

Physical Prototype Vehicle Drive System

Next Week’s Action Items - Electrical Component Preparation for Display -Hazard Sensing -Driving Straight -Turning -Autonomous Control - Development of Vehicle Operation Code -Integrate GPS function and navigation -Perform each function (locating, driving, turning, sensing)

Operation Flow Chart

Thank you.
