Expository Prompts Explain Inform Not a story!

Think about people working together to accomplish something. Write about something good that happened because people worked together.

Think about an important scientific idea or fact you have learned. Write about this idea or fact and why it is important.

Think about some of the best books you have read. Write about the importance of reading books.

Personal Narrative Prompts About YOU! Exciting Tell a personal story from a memory

Teachers are very important in our lives. Write about how a teacher has made your life better.

Write about a time in your life that you did not give up. Babe Ruth, a famous baseball player, once said, “It’s hard to beat a person who never gives up.” Write about a time in your life that you did not give up.

Write about a time you decided to do something and were successful. “If you think you can, you can—and if you think you can’t you’re right” Write about a time you decided to do something and were successful.

Write about how you have learned what is right to do. Civil rights activist Martin Luther King Jr. once said, “The time is always right to do what is right.” Write about how you have learned what is right to do.

“The only way to have a friend is to be one.” Think about your best friend or a friend you have had in the past. Write about a good time you have had with this friend.
