Facts and Figures Ba Vi Tea granted as Certificate Mark on 01/10/2010; 6 big tea manufacturing factories with more than 3000 tons per year; export accounts for 50-60% of total yield of Ba Vi District; Main exporting markets: Japan, Pakistan, Russia, China, U.K, Middle East… More than 10,000 employees Income of tea farmers about 100 ml. dongs/ha/year

Outline Opportunities and Challenges Government supports Role of IP and Branding strategies

Opportunities and Challenges 1.Opportunities -Exporting markets will be expanded to European, American and African regions; -Turnover from export will be increased; -Number of employees will be increased. 2. Challenges -Branding or IP protection in exporting markets; -Strict requirements for high quality of exporting markets; -Difficulties in commercialization of branding abroad.

Government supports The Government provide supports with infrastructures and most favorable conditions for farmers to develop their raw material areas through preferential credit capitals; Model of 04 partner cooperation network established between farmers, enterprises, scientists and policy makers to help farmers access and apply scientific and techical advances in production; States banks, credit agencies extend most favorable conditions for investors, enterprises, localities in implementing projects on production and bussiness of tea products within the District with preferential interest rate, simple procedures; Competent agencies within the District provide financial supports, training courses for farmers on techniques and technological advances of fertilizing, harvesting, peticide protection, production, etc.; From NOIP side, we supported for not only Ba Vi Tea but also other products to be registered in domestic and foreign countries, held training courses on IP awareness enhancement for farmers, enterprises, other stakeholders.

Role of IP and Branding Strategies IP establishes a right and identifies ownership of the intellectual creativity; IP enhances the value and profitability of a business; IP assets accrue to their owners through its business development and strategies; IP instills trust, confidence and loyalty to the consumers it markets.
