Trauma & Stressor-Related Disorders Common symptoms of Reactive Attachment Disorder : detached, unresponsive or resistant to comforting, inhibited or holding back emotionally, withdrawn or a mixture of approach & avoidance Common symptoms of Disinhibited Social Engagement Disorder: indiscriminate sociability, inappropriately familiar with relative strangers, lack of selectivity in choice of attachment figures

Pathogenic care is presumed to be responsible for the disturbances in attachment and social behavior DSM V separates RAD into RAD (all inhibited & focused primarily on attachment behavior) and Disinhibited Social Engagement Disorder (focuses primarily on social behavior)
