What Advising and Career Services Used to Look Like

Old Student Affairs organization Admissions Registrar Student Support Services Admissions handled advising all NEW students based on program of study. Then the student went to program faculty for advisement and/or the one full-time general advisor and the five part-time general advisors. (All under Academic Affairs). Career Services worked with all students under the Student Support Services umbrella.

Advising by Program Business and Technical Studies (eMAP) Advising Teams are listed based on program of study and campus location. The teams consist of academic advisors and program faculty advisors. Students choose which advisor to see based on their comfort level. These Advising Teams meet once per semester to share program information and advising ideas and strategies. A designated course in each program includes an advising module. Program eMAPs direct students about course selection. Arts and Sciences (Technical Specialist Cert) Academic advisors and Arts and Sciences faculty are listed by campus for students to choose. The Technical Specialist Certificate program guide helps facilitate course selection. Health Sciences New students meet with an academic advisor and a health sciences advisor before being transitioned to the Health Sciences advisors solely.
