Both user groups use different services at different intensities §Loans - 50 / 50 §Document Delivery - 80% NHS, 15% HE §Mediated Literature searches - 92% NHS, 6% HE §User Education - in terms of library staff contact hours 33% NHS, 67% HE §Photocopying (self-service) - 35% NHS, 60% HE

Access to Electronic Resources §Allow NHS users access to JANET (by guest password) §NHS users can therefore access NHSiS elibrary §ATHENS authentication prevents NHS users accessing Stirling University licenced databases and ejournals §Complicated and confusing for users!

Our ‘relationship’ with the NHS §Lacking! §The ‘takeover’ by Stirling University, although bringing undoubted advantages in terms of resources, has distanced HHSL from the NHS [funding - a troublesome issue] §Lack of network connectivity compounds the problem
