Origin The Worship of Odin Can be traced to the Proto-Germanic paganism. Odin is also regarded as the Norse Psychopompos, or “The Guide of Souls”. Odin also closely connected to a Eight legged horse named Sleipnir, and a Spear named Gungnir that is said to have been crated by dwarves. Odin can also transform in to Many different animals and beasts.

Origin (continued) Odin is a principal member of the Æsir, which consists of Odin, Frigg, Thor, Baldr and Tyr. Odin and his Wife, Frigg are the Rulers of Asgard. Asgard is the Capital city of one of the nine worlds. Odin Has many names like Aldaföðr, and Foldardróttinn, so they just call him Odin All Father

Odin’s Story Odin loved to walk among Humans, but he never revealed his immortal form so he disguised himself as an old man with an old floppy green hat and pulled the brim over his face to hide that he only has one eye. He also wore a robe and had a staff. Odin had shamanic traits, he was revered as a great shaman, and wizard. Odin’s wife, Frigg, was a mortal till Odin gazed upon her one day and fell in love, later he made her an immortal.

Odin’s story continued Odin is a very powerful wizard. When Mimir was killed by Vanir, Odin Took his head and conjured it told him many secrets. He also used Mimirs head for advise in emergencies. Odin’s wizardry often came from runes which he got his knowledge of in a very unusual experience. Odin hung upside down in a tree for nine days and nights without food nor water, with a spear in his side. By suffering in this way he gained the knowledge of runes and how to use them.

Odin In literature Odin appears in the marvel comics of Thor which Odin plays his actual role as the All Father and the king of Asgard.

Odin in modern days Even though Odin is ancient many people still worship him. Odin is by far the most forgiving Of the Norse gods. Even when all of the other Norse gods left the humans in disgust, Odin decided to stay and walk among the humans.
