History First described in the 1300’s Modern Soccer was developed in England in 1869 as the Football Association FIFA was established in 1904 First World Cup played in 1930 in Uruguay (every 4 years)

Gameplay Objective: The object of the game is to score the most goals. In a World Cup or professional match there are two 45 minute halves. 11 players on the field at a time per team.

Gameplay You may not touch the ball with any part of your arms or hands. If the ball is touched illegally, the other team gets a free kick. The ball is placed in the center of the field at the start the game and following each goal.

Gameplay If the ball goes out of bounds on either side of the field, then the team opposing the last person to touch the ball gets it.

Gameplay Corner kick: If the ball is sent out of bounds on the end of the field by a player who is on the team that the goal belongs to, the opposing team gets a free kick from the corner of the field.

Gameplay Goal kick: If the ball is sent out of bounds on the end of the field by a player who is not on the team that the goal belongs to, then the opposing team's goalie gets a free kick from the goalie box.

Techniques Throw-ins: A player stands where the ball crossed the sideline and throws the ball back in. When throwing the ball in you must keep both feet on the ground, use both hands to throw it, and throw from behind your head.

Techniques Passing: Kicking the ball to another player using various surfaces on the foot. Head the ball to yourself or a team mate. Passing is the foundation of team play in soccer.

Techniques Shooting There are multiple techniques used in shooting. Sometimes you have very little time and just need to snap a shot with power. Other times you need to place the ball where you want it.

Techniques Tackling Tackling is simply taking the ball off an opposing player. Dribbling Using a variety of surfaces on your feet to move the ball.
