Shadow is an adventurous drama book. I think this book is... UHF This is the best book I have read in a long time and if you ever have the chance to read it, READ IT!!!

The Plot Matt and Aman are best friends and Matt is heart broken when Aman tells him that he has to go to a place called The Yarl Wood's Centre because he was originally from Afghanistan and probably won't ever see him again. About a month later, it is the summer holidays and Matt goes round to his Grandpa's for the week. After a couple of days, Matt finds out that The Yarl Wood's Centre is only about 20 miles away! He kept on pestering his Grandpa to go and visit Aman and his mum and finally he let him go. But to Matt's disappointment only his grandpa was allowed in so he went alone. Aman told Grandpa why he was in there and it was sad story. Aman and his mum are in Afghanistan escaping the Taliban. Aman's grandma and father had been killed so it was just him and his mum. Aman had found that a dog had been following him. He had been getting really annoyed, but then realised that the dog had been leading them to safety. Eventually, Aman started to like the dog so he named him Shadow! Will they make it to safety in Britain before it's too late?

I would recommend this book to people who like adventure books over the age of 9 because it can be very complicated in some parts. Michael Morpurgo writes lots of other books. There's almost 100 of them!
