 Cubism is an early 20th-century style and movement in art  Like, painting, simple geometric shapes, collage and more.

EXAMPLE

 Juan Gris is born in Madrid, Spain but lived in France  Juan Gris is an artist who drew a lot of cubist paintings.

One if Juan Gris’s Art

 He was inspired by Mattise and the plethora of different Cubism movement that was kicking off.  He became friends with Picasso and Braque and he was influenced by them.

Gris’s “Portrait of Picasso”

 I actually don’t like Cubism and I prefer still-life. I like things more realistic.  I think Cubism is more complicated.

Example of a Still Life Painting

 Realism is a type of artwork. But you paint/draw/sketch it as it looks in real life adding the shading.  Cubism is the opposite of realism, it’s the actual thing but you change it and make it look the way you want.

Painting that includes REALISM AND CUBISM!
