Before you start, get to know your team …. Discuss your best and worst visits to a library. What kinds of libraries were they? Did you find what you were looking for? Were the librarians helpful? Did you get a warm, fuzzy feeling or were you anxious and uncomfortable?

No need to fear the library! The library is a fun place to read, socialize, check your , grab some coffee…and oh, yes, to do homework and research. After tonight, you’ll feel like a pro at using the library and its resources. Is this you? Click on the screen.

Print out and retrieve a handout to record your answers during the Lockdown. To do this: 1. Click on the printer below 2. Print the document that opens 3. Find the printer on the Self-guided Tour and pick up your handout 4. Click on the red X to close the document window and continue

Imagine you are illustrating a comic book. Draw a quick sketch of a librarian. Pass your drawing around and let each group member add to the drawing. List three words that describe your cartoon librarian. Write the names of your team members on your handout.

Here’s your chance to meet the librarians. Find and record the best locations for finding the answers to the questions on your handout by asking the librarians at the circulation desk, reference desk, information desk, presentation support desk, or course reserves desk. An answer of “I don’t know” means that you have asked at the wrong desk and should try another.
