HyperLeda H yper L inked E xtragalactic D atabases and A rchives Project of Astronomical Observatory, Sofia University … merging HyperCat and LEDA
Project Goals The scientific goal which motivated the development of former HyperCat was the study of the physics and evolution of galaxies. Since 2000, HyperCat and LEDA are operated in a common Consortium which soon will offer a merged interface called HyperLeda.
Enlargement the SSADC with new equipment (AvH Shtiftung donation in 2003): a new local server and precise fast scanner. Development of the High Performance Cluster (HPC) for the WFPDB and HyperLeda purposes (ZIV Uni-Műnster donation) Enlargement the Wide Field Plate Databse and implementation in the International Astronomical Data Center in Strasbourg - complementation of the Bamberg Plate Archive and make it available on line via Internet - Integration with VizieR (CDS) and Astrophysical Data System (ADS) of Harvard Institute of Astronomy Providing a data-grid service for the astronomical community in Bulgaria and in the region of E&SE Europe Future plans and perspectives
