Education Clinical Care Research ID Training at NUH

Why would one do ID? (over other medical specialties) We mostly cure patients Diverse opportunities from bedside to international public health We are not organ specific and therefore maintain general skills We make good detectives Less vulnerable after hours as non-proceduralists Good flexibility for more or less work (including part time)

Why ID may not be for you? No procedures = less money Less of “your own” patients…. more consulting, therefore less predictable Often juggling rather than fixed schedule
