Morton School Information Student hours are 8:30am to 3:30pm Students will be dismissed from the car rider line at 8:00. The office doors will not open until 8:10am. You can contact the county office at (910) if you need more information on before and after school care. Kindergarten students participate in staggered enrollment. This will take place over 3 days. Be sure to get your child’s stagger day from your child’s teacher.
Bus and Pickups Any changes to pm routine must be accompanied by a note That states: Child’s name Teacher’s name Usual Bus # and Change Address Phone number to contact parent No bus changes by phone or
Breakfast If your child wishes to eat breakfast at school, please make sure they know to do so before coming to class! Breakfast is served from 8:10am to 8:30am. Cost of breakfast is Student, full paying-$1.25 Student, reduced-FREE
Lunch You are welcome to join your child for lunch. If you know you are bringing your child’s lunch to them for lunch, please send a note stating so. We respectively request that this begins at the end of September, giving us time to adjust. Our lunch time is 10:35- 11:05am. Please make sure to sign in at the front office before meeting us in the cafeteria. Cost of Lunch is Student, full paying $2.25 Student, reduced.40 Milk.50 * You may pay for your child’s lunch online * If your child has a medical allergy, please provide a doctor’s note to the school nurse.
Snack Please provide a daily snack. Since our lunch is earlier in the day, snack time will be in the afternoon. We would appreciate any snack donations for those students who do not have a snack.
Birthday Goodies School policy requires that all food products are store bought, with the ingredient label intact. We are happy to celebrate birthdays during our regular snack time. Be sure to notify the teacher if you intend to celebrate your child’s birthday in class. Please notify us of any food allergies!
Attendance Please make sure students are present each day. Early check outs and tardies may count against attendance. ***If your child is absent, please send in a note that states: Child’s name Teacher’s name Absent Date(s) Reason for absence Doctor’s Note
Morning Routine You may bring your child in the first day to walk him/her through the morning routine. 1 st Job- Unpack 2 nd Job-Lunch routine 3 rd Job- Find seat and begin morning work After staggered enrollment, we ask that you drop your child off with a quick kiss and go.

Footwear Absolutely NO FLIP FLOPS! No Rainbows… Sandals are permissible. PE days… no sandals
In case of an “accident” Please send in seasonal clothes in case there is an uh-oh, so there can be dry and clean clothes available! Please place clothing in a Ziploc bag with their name clearly labeled.

Early Release Days September 23 October 21 February 24 March 16 April 20 Students will be dismissed at 12:30pm **If your child will be going home a different way, please notify the teacher, with a note, in advance
Conferences The first conference will be held by the end of October. Any additional conferences will be scheduled upon need/ request.
Field Trips A few times this year, your child will have the opportunity to participate in an educational field trip. A permission slip will go home several weeks prior to it being due. We ask that you return the permission slip and fee ASAP. Lunch-if lunch will be eaten on the field trip you can either pack a lunch or purchase a school lunch Parents are not allowed to ride the buses –You may follow the buses from the school to the site of the field trip Parents are responsible for paying for their own admission upon arrival to the field trip location. Parent/Sibling costs can be more than the discounted student rates. Siblings are permitted, but field trips are a great opportunity for “special” time for you and your kindergarten student
Volunteers All volunteers must be fingerprinted with a background check done at the county office If you wish to volunteer, please see your child’s teacher for more information on how you can best serve the needs of the classroom. -Volunteering isn’t always in the classroom. Sometimes projects can be completed at home and returned
Donations Teachers will have a Donations list located inside their classroom tomorrow during orientation (3:00- 6:00). Thank you in advance for your generosity.
