Assessment and Evaluation  Assessment of student achievement is a continuous and ongoing process.  Evaluations reflect the extent to which the student meets the expectations identified for each grade level in the Ontario curriculum for all subject levels.  Evaluation is based on the levels described in each subject area in the curriculum with Level 3 representing achievement that is considered to be the standard for the grade.

Assessment and Evaluation (continued)  Some methods of assessment and evaluation are: Daily work samples, test results, quizzes, assignments, projects, presentations, student portfolios and teacher observations.  Report cards will be sent home two times a year. The first will be in February and the second will be in June. There will be a progress report sent home in November.  It is important to come to parent-teacher-student conferences to discuss how to better meet the needs or improve on your child’s strengths and weaknesses.
