This article: stipulates that within the confines of a website a certain amount of the website itself should be dedicated to content and a design that is engaging enough to keep visitors browsing through the page and engaging with the content available. Furthermore, the website should be designed in a way that it is NEITHER over complicated or too simple. Adding on, visitors that land on the page SHOULDN’T have to wait too long to load the page neither as well as be put through having to read hard to read text. Finally, first and foremost a website SHOULD be fully functional before considering any design elements as why would a visitor stay on a nonfunctional website. This article mentioned that in order to for a website to be deemed successful, not only must it download fast, it must also look good. Basically, the author of this article is an advocate for all things minimal. I agree with this article as it has so many benefits; minimalist sites load faster, take fewer server resources, and are often faster to develop than more graphically complicated designs (Chapman, 2014). The extra graphic should only be placed in the website if it will definitely ensure the return of the visitor to the website as it will contribute to the increase in waiting time. Waiting time is very important as according to Moz (2012) it is far more likely to lose some prospective customers simply because they can get the service elsewhere, without having to wait for a page to load.
