Psychological thrillers is a sub-genre varying from horror movies to thriller films. Within the film there is often a use of playing mind tricks often for example where one certain character has conflict within his own mind, this effect is used to create suspense and a tense atmosphere. Within these psychological thrillers, they often feature themes through out the movie such as reality, the sudden realisation that everything is going bad. The fear of death is often common within psychological thrillers.

Rom-com,( romantic comedy’s) are films that combine the mix of a romance film with comedy incorporated into the cast. These are perfect as they appeal to a mixed audience of male and females, a example of a rom-com would be Notting hill. Nearly all rom-coms involve a humorous plot where love is the goal however there are many funny setbacks on the way. This is again a sub-genre of a romance film.

Action films are a example of films which use exotic locations, high budgets and certain time periods to create a feeling within the film. There is often a goal within the plot for example to rescue someone or find the treasure etc… These films often have popular concepts within the film such as an outlaw battling for justice such as Robin Hood.

Drama is a genre of film which often includes certain aspects within the plot. These vary from a list of emotional themes such as prejudice and drug addiction,these are 2 examples. Horror is a genre that is set up to create emotions within the films such as disgust, fear and horror. Horror movies such as Dracula, scream and Frankenstein. Horror films often use different types of tactics to create a tense atmosphere. Music is a common feature on the films.
