Lebbaeus, whose surname was Thaddaeus -- the same, without doubt, as "Judas the brother of James," mentioned in both the lists of Luke (Lu 6:16) and Acts (Ac 1:13).Lu 6:16Ac 1:13 A Commentary: Critical, Experimental, and Practical on the Old and New Testaments. Lebbaeus, whose surname was Thaddeus. These two words have the same signification in Hebrew. Luke calls him Judas, by a slight change from the name Thaddaeus. Such changes are common in all writings.
