What is Social Networking? Wikipedia defines social networking as a social structure made up of individuals (or organizations) called "nodes," which are tied (connected) by one or more specific types of interdependency, such as friendship, kinship, common interest, financial exchange, dislike, sexual relationships, or relationships of beliefs, knowledge or prestige.

How Did Social Networking Evolve? World Wide Web (Web 1.0) One-way flow of information through websites which contained “read-only” material. The website publisher controlled the content. As the Internet evolved, users became more savvy, tools became easier to use, individuals wanted to post their own thoughts and content.
