Land of Confusion (Disturbed) I must have dreamed a thousand dreams Been haunted by a million screams But I can hear the marching feet They're moving into the street Now, did you read the news today? They say the danger has gone away But I can see the fire's still alight They're burning into the night There's too many men, too many people Making too many problems And there's not much love to go around Can't you see this is a land of confusion? This is the world we live in And these are the hands we're given Use them and let's start trying To make it a place worth living in Oh, superman, where are you now? When everything's gone wrong somehow? The men of steel, these men of power Are losing control by the hour This is the time, this is the place So we look for the future But there's not much love to go around Tell me why this is a land of confusion This is the world we live in And these are the hands we're given Use them and let's start trying To make it a place worth living in I remember long ago When the sun was shining And all the stars were bright all through the night In the wake of this madness, as I held you tight So long ago I won't be coming home tonight My generation will put it right We're not just making promises That we know we'll never keep There's too many men, too many people Making too many problems And there's not much love to go round Can't you see this is a land of confusion? Now, this is the world we live in And these are the hands we're given Use them and let's start trying To make it a place worth fighting for This is the world we live in And these are the names we're given Stand up and let's start showing Just where our lives are going to I think the song is about how the government abuses their power. I chose this song because, I feel in some parts of the song it refers to fighting back against the government. When I here this song, I feel that we should limit the power of the government.

Frontline (Pillar) It's not like I'm walking alone into the valley of the shadow of death Stand beside one another, 'cause it ain't over yet I'd be willing to bet that if we don't back down You and I will be the ones that are holding the Crown in the end When it's over, we can say, "Well done" But not yet, 'cause it's only begun So, pick up, and follow me, we're the only ones To fight this thing, until we've won We drive on and don't look back It doesn't mean we can't learn from our past All the things that we mighta done wrong We could've been doing this all along Everybody, with your fists raised high Let me hear your battle cry tonight Stand beside, or step aside We're on the frontline And we'll be carrying on, until the day it doesn't matter anymore Step aside, you forgot what this is for We fight to live, we live to fight And tonight, you'll hear my battle cry We live our lives on the frontlines We're not afraid of the fast times These days have opened up my eyes And now, I see where the threat lies We've got to lead the way I think this song is about the unnecessary wars that we have had. I chose this song because, when I heard it I thought of the war in Iraq. When I hear this song I feel we are losing too many people for unnecessary things.

Homeless (Pennywise) Look at all these people lying around look at all these people being scraped Right off the ground because of too many broken homes too many cardboard box- Es too many people who just can't survive hare losses well americans don't Belong in tins let's learn to help ourselves before we help the foreign wound- Ed decay shout out dismay can you hear ther voices yelling out mayday why are We sending money overseas look out your window our nation's the one that needs Because there's not enough income there's too much poverty why must we lose More lives before our eyes will see we'll leave it alone hope it goes away It's hard to ignore life when you live it everyday I'd like to see I'd like To say I'd like to hear that help is on the way here today where tomorrow? Death in the shadows affect us all too many bodies lie in the street too many Hungry mouths that have the right to feed I think this song is about how we neglect are own citizens and pay more attention to foreign affairs. I chose this song because, in the 4 th stanza it talks about us taking care of other countries instead of ourselves. When I hear this song I feel that our nation is crumbling from the lack of acknowledgement toward ourselves.

Civil War (Guns N’ Roses) "What we've got here is failure to communicate. Some men you just can't reach... So, you get what we had here last week, which is the way he wants it! Well, he gets it! N' I don't like it any more than you men." * Look at your young men fighting Look at your women crying Look at your young men dying The way they've always done before Look at the hate we're breeding Look at the fear we're feeding Look at the lives we're leading The way we've always done before My hands are tied The billions shift from side to side And the wars go on with brainwashed pride For the love of God and our human rights And all these things are swept aside By bloody hands time can't deny And are washed away by your genocide And history hides the lies of our civil wars D'you wear a black armband When they shot the man Who said "Peace could last forever" And in my first memories They shot Kennedy I went numb when I learned to see So I never fell for Vietnam We got the wall of D.C. to remind us all That you can't trust freedom When it's not in your hands When everybody's fightin' For their promised land And I don't need your civil war It feeds the rich while it buries the poor Your power hungry sellin' soldiers In a human grocery store Ain't that fresh I don't need your civil war Look at the shoes your filling Look at the blood we're spilling Look at the world we're killing The way we've always done before Look in the doubt we've wallowed Look at the leaders we've followed Look at the lies we've swallowed And I don't want to hear no more My hands are tied For all I've seen has changed my mind But still the wars go on as the years go by With no love of God or human rights 'Cause all these dreams are swept aside By bloody hands of the hypnotized Who carry the cross of homicide And history bears the scars of our civil wars "We practice selective annihilation of mayors And government officials For example to create a vacuum Then we fill that vacuum As popular war advances Peace is closer" ** I don't need your civil war It feeds the rich while it buries the poor Your power hungry sellin' soldiers In a human grocery store Ain't that fresh And I don't need your civil war I don't need your civil war I don't need your civil war Your power hungry sellin' soldiers In a human grocery store Ain't that fresh I don't need your civil war I don't need one more war I don't need one more war Whaz so civil 'bout war anyway I think this song is about how only the poor and helpless go to war and the rich stay home carrying on with their lives. I chose this song because, I felt it touched a good amount on the wars we’ve had. When I hear this song I feel no matter how rich or poor you are you should serve you country if you are of age.

Rust in Peace (Megadeth) Tremble you weakings, cower in fear I am your ruler, land, sea and air Immense in my girth, erect I stand tall I am nuclear murderer I am Polaris Ready to pounce at the touch of a button My systems locked in on military gluttons I rule on land, air and sea Pass judgement on humanity Winds blow from the bowels of hell Will we give warnings, only time will tell Satan rears his ugly head, to spit into the wind I spread disease like a dog Discharge my payload a mile high Rotten egg air of death wrestles your nostrils Launch the Polaris, the end doesn't scare us When will this cease The warheads will all rust in peace Bomb shelters filled to the brim Survival such a silly whim World leaders sell missiles cheap Your stomach turns, your flesh creeps High priests of holocaust, fire from the sea Nuclear winter spreading disease The day of final conflict All pay the price The third world war Rapes peace, takes life Back to the start, talk of the part When the Earth was cold as ice Total dismay as the sun passed away And the days where black as night Eradication of Earth's Population loves Polaris I think this song is about how nuclear weapons are becoming a problem. I chose this song because, I thought about the Cold War when I heard it. When I hear this song I feel like our future will be grim and unexpected.

Born in the U.S.A. (Bruce Springsteen) Born down in a dead man's town The first kick I took was when I hit the ground You end up like a dog that's been beat too much 'Til you spend half your life just covering up CHORUS Born in the U.S.A. Born in the U.S.A. Born in the U.S.A. Born in the U.S.A. I got in a little hometown jam And so they put a rifle in my hands Sent me off to Vietnam To go and kill the yellow man CHORUS Come back home to the refinery Hiring man says "Son if it was up to me" I go down to see the V.A. man He said "Son don't you understand" CHORUS I had a buddy at Khe Sanh Fighting off the Viet Cong They're still there, he's all gone He had a little girl in Saigon I got a picture of him in her arms Down in the shadow of the penitentiary Out by the gas fires of the refinery I'm ten years down the road Nowhere to run, ain't got nowhere to go I'm a long gone Daddy in the U.S.A. Born in the U.S.A. I'm a cool rocking Daddy in the U.S.A. Born in the U.S.A. I think this song is about the way we treat soldiers after war. I chose this song because, it shows how we treated other Americans. When I hear this song I feel like it doesn’t matter what we do, people will always treat you a certain way.

Imagine (John Lennon) Imagine there's no heaven It's easy if you try No hell below us Above us only sky Imagine all the people Living for today... Imagine there's no countries It isn't hard to do Nothing to kill or die for And no religion too Imagine all the people Living life in peace... You may say I'm a dreamer But I'm not the only one I hope someday you'll join us And the world will be as one Imagine no possessions I wonder if you can No need for greed or hunger A brotherhood of man Imagine all the people Sharing all the world... You may say I'm a dreamer But I'm not the only one I hope someday you'll join us And the world will live as one I think this song is about achieving world peace. I chose this song because, I felt it reflected on the goal for that decade in time. When I hear this song I feel that we could live in a world filled with peace if political leaders listened to their people.

Hate and War (The Clash) Hate and war - the only things we got today An' if I close my eyes They will not go away You have to deal with it It is the currency Hate...hate...hate... The hate of a nation A million miles from home An' get war from the junkies Who don't like my form I'm gonna stay in the city Even when the house fall down I don't dream of a holiday When hate an' war come around Hate and war... I have the will to survive I cheat if I can't win If someone locks me out I kick my way back in An' if I get aggression I give it to them two time back Every day it's just the same With hate an' war on my back Hate and war - I hate all the English Hate and war - they're just as bad as wops Hate and war - I hate all the politeness Hate and war - I hate all the cops I wanna walk down any street Looking like a creep I don't care if I get beat up By any Kebab Greek I think this song is about how some people voice their opinions and get harassed about it. I chose this song because I felt it touched the truth, that even if you speak your mind you still have to deal with consequences. When I hear this song I feel like everyone is afraid to stand against the government for fear of being ridiculed.

Give Peace a Chance (John Lennon) Ev'rybody's talking about Bagism, Shagism, Dragism, Madism, Ragism, Tagism This-ism, that-ism, is-m, is-m, is-m. All we are saying is give peace a chance All we are saying is give peace a chance C'mon Ev'rybody's talking about Ministers, Sinisters, Banisters and canisters Bishops and Fishops and Rabbis and Pop eyes, And bye bye, bye byes. All we are saying is give peace a chance I think this song is about choosing an alternative to war. I chose this song because, it shows all governments think about is war. When I hear this song I feel we fight more then we need to.

Eve of Destruction (Barry McGuire) The eastern world, it is exploding/ Violence flarin’, bullets loadin’/ You’re old enough to kill, but not for votin’/ You don’t believe in war, but what’s that gun you’re totin’/ And even the Jordan River has bodies floatin’/ But you tell me/ Over and over and over again, my friend/ Ah, you don’t believe We’re on the eve/ of destruction./ Don’t you understand what I’m tryin’ to say/ Can’t you feel the fears I’m feelin’ today?/ If the button is pushed, there’s no runnin’ away/ There’ll be no one to save, with the world in a grave/ [Take a look around ya boy, it's bound to scare ya boy]/ And you tell me/ Over and over and over again, my friend/ Ah, you don’t believe We’re on the eve/ of destruction. /Yeah, my blood’s so mad feels like coagulatin’/ I’m sitting here just contemplatin’/ I can’t twist the truth, it knows no regulation/. Handful of senators don’t pass legislation /And marches alone can’t bring integration/ When human respect is disintegratin’/ This whole crazy world is just too frustratin’/ And you tell me/ Over and over and over again, my friend/ Ah, you don’t believe We’re on the eve/ of destruction. /Think of all the hate there is in Red China /Then take a look around to Selma, Alabama /You may leave here for 4 days in space/ But when you return, it’s the same old place /The poundin’ of the drums, the pride and disgrace /You can bury your dead, but don’t leave a trace/ Hate your next- door neighbor, but don’t forget to say grace/ And… tell me over and over and over and over again, my friend/ You don’t believe/ We’re on the eve/ Of destruction/ Mm, no no, you don’t believe/ We’re on the eve/ of destruction. I think this song is about how no matter what happens, war or peace, the world will always be the same. I chose this song because, I felt it spoke the truth about how the world operates. When I hear this song I feel the world may never have peace but instead just war.
