NHS MARCH AGENDA 2016

ANIMAL OUTREACH On March 9 th and 10 th from 8-8:30 in the morning at the C204 storage room, we will have National Animal Poison Prevention Week poster making. On March 5 th and 6 th from 8:00-5:00 at K-9 central, we will be helping out at the dog show. On March 6th from 2-4PM at the Thundering Paws Animal Sanctuary, we will be helping out with the cats cleaning and playing.

COMMUNITY BEAUTIFICATION Wednesday Morning at 8am in the C204 Storage Room, we will have a Terracycling pick up. On Wednesday at 8am in the C204 Storage Room, we will have Terracycling sorting and shipment.

COMMUNITY SERVICE We will be helping the Crisis Ministries (on going) every Wednesday after schoolat LTCM (107 RR 620 South) by bagging groceries and helping clients carry groceries. We will help with the Mobile Loaves and Fishes (food drive) every Saturday and Sunday at 5:30 pm at Lake Hills Church by helping pack and deliver food and clothes to specified locations. We will help Mobile Loaves and Fishes (landscaping) every Saturdays from 9:00am- 12:00pm in East Austin (specific address on website) with building and landscaping

EXTRACURRICULAR APPRECIATION On March 3 rd at 8:15 in Ms. Knox’s Room (K106), drop off cookies for golf to wish them luck at their state preview. (1 bag=30 min. 2 bags max) On March 10 th at 8am and 4pm in the NHS Storage Room (C204)- Make cards and posters for band congratulating them on their performance in Indiana /cards for state qualifiers AM: make posters/cards PM: hang up posters & deliver cards.

FACULTY APPRECIATION On Thursday, March 24 th at 8 am in the A100 teachers’ lounge, we will have a Teachers’ Breakfast- come hang out with teachers and bring food. Turn in a homemade, heart-felt card for a teacher you've had and drop it off in the box in an adviser’s room by Wednesday, March 23rd. Hours are based on time spent minutes. Max of 2 cards

INTERNATIONAL OUTREACH On March 9 th at 4 PM in the C204 Storage Room, we will have poster-making for Caring for Cambodia community event and fundraiser; we will also be volunteering for the event.

KIDS On Tuesdays from 3:55-4:55 P.M at Hudson Bend Middle School in the 7th grade computer lab, we willhelp tutor middle schoolers. On April 8 th from 5:30-11:30 P.M. at the Sonesta Hotel, we will work the check in and check out table for the Lake Pointe Elementary School silent auction gala. On March 23, from 4:00-5:00 P.M. in Knox's Room (K106), we will be making cards for Dell Children’s Hospital. On March 8, from 5:30-7:30 P.M. at Lake Pointe Elementary, we will help run Science booths for Family Science Night.

SENIOR CITIZEN Every Saturday from 2-4pm at Park Manor Retirement Home- we will do arts and crafts and Bingo with the residents!

SOCIAL OUTREACH On March 4 th, 11 th, 18 th, and 25 th, during Cavtime, we will help at the best buddies disabilities walk. On the 24 th of April we will meet in the Lifeskills Room; we will volunteer downtown by capital building and hangout with Life Skills kids; check out the walk for disabilities

TUTORING On Wednesdays, there will be tutoring at LTMS at 4:00. (more people can come) Exam study session. (TBD)

WELLNESS OUTREACH In March, we will help HOSA and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society with the school-wide fundraising campaign. We will help CCFA Take Steps on April 9 th at 10:00am at Camp Mabry. There will be music, food and walking to raise money for a cure! We will be volunteering for Relay for Life.
