What’s a Norm??? A norm is an expected behavior. Time to Think: How are norms different Than rules? Why are norms important?

The Five Basic Behavioral Norms 1.No one has the right to hurt another person. 2.Education and the classroom are sacred. 3.We will never behave in any way that will discredit ourselves, our hall or our school. 4.We take pride in our John B. Stetson Charter School. 5.An John B. Stetson Charter School student is always a lady or gentleman.

Campus Norms We respect each other We treat school personnel with respect We keep our shirts tucked in and our shoes tied We don’t fight or horseplay We don’t play staff on staff We don’t use racial slurs We don’t steal We don’t tolerate graffiti We don’t support negative behavior We don’t bring drugs on campus We don’t come to school under the influence of drugs and alcohol We don’t damage or destroy school property We don’t become truant We don’t conspire We don’t posses weapons We don’t gamble We don’t haze or bully We don’t demonstrate indecent behavior We don’t violate the dress code We don’t bring contraband to school We take pride in our appearance We introduce ourselves to others We say “yes,” “no,” “excuse me,” “please,” and “thank you”
